"Widower Kailash Patil (Utpal Dutt) lives a retired life whining about the new and modernised generation. In an attempt to keep his son away from western influence, he decides to get him married to a village girl. But his son, Ramesh (Farooq Shaikh) is already in love with Dr. Ramola Sharma (Deepti Naval). It is then that Kailash’s friend suggests the kids to play pretend. Dr. Ramola masquerades as a village girl to impress Kailash and get his consent for their marriage. Do the couple get married? Does Kailash’s impression about the generation change for the better or does it get worse?
